While exploring and shopping in the various prisons, you will come across many types of armor. Armor is primarily used in battle. It can boost or lower your stats depending on the type, and each armor has a minimum level that you must be before you can equip it.

Change your equipped armor on the equipment page

New Jersey Armor

Pillow [Level: 1] $1,200
DEF: +5
Won't protect much against shank attacks, but this should soften some physical blows

Lunch Tray [Level: 2] $1,800
DEF: +15, SPD: -1
Hard plastic keeps you protected from most blade attacks and weakens direct blows

Duct Tape Vest [Level: 2] $2,000
DEF: +10, SPD: +2
Form fitting so it won't slow you down, but less effective against blades

San Quentin Armor

Form fitting so it won't slow you down, but less effective against blades

Phone Book [Level: 3] $5,000
DEF: +30, SPD: -5
Bulky but extremely effective in stopping many attacks.

Putnam Armor

Bulky but extremely effective in stopping many attacks.

Riot Shield [Level: 5]$10,000
DEF: +120, SPD: -20%
A bit ungainly, but really good for keeping your foe at a distance

Arizona Armor

Breast Plate [Level: 9] $25,000
DEF: +30%, SPD: -20%
Extremely heavy, but also sturdy

Bulletproof Vest [Level: 10] $50,000
DEF: +25%, SPD: -5%
Made of kevlar so it'll protect from bullets and knives. It's a tad bulky though

South Dakota Armor

Foam Cheese [Level: 1] $50,000
STR: +5%, DEF: +5%, SPD: +5%
Slide this over your torso, and you'll look so damned ridiculous no one will want to fuck with you.

Soup Pot [Level: 14] $80,000
DEF: +80,000, SPD: -20,000
This'll protect you from a lot of head shots, but the weight will definitely slow you down

Wooden Barrel [Level: 16] $120,000
DEF: +115,000, SPD: -20,000
A bit bulky, but come on.. stylish as hell!

Wooden Shield [Level: 18] $120,000
DEF: +200,000, SPD: +80,000
Light and effective, you can thwart most attacks with this
