===No Duplicate Accounts===
Each inmate is only allowed one account. If you are caught using multiple accounts, you will be permanently isolated.

We '''DO''' allow for multiple DIFFERENT people to play the game from a single IP or computer, but it MUST be a different person, and as a precaution, your accounts will be marked as duplicates of each other. This means you will NOT be able to attack, raid, mug, buy from, sell to or send cash to them.

This also applies to harboring knowledge of a cheater, or rejoined banned user and not reporting it.

While in-game disputes do happen, keep it civil. Do not post the personal information of other players (such as real name, address, phone number). We have no desire for in-game disputes to become real-world brawls, and players posting this personal information about other players may be banned.

Respect the staff of the game. Disrespecting of staff members IS cause for extended or permanent isolation.

Battles

Battling other inmates is an integral part of the game. It's one of the most fun ways to earn [[Your Character#Experience Points (EXP)|experience]], allows you to test out your weapons and stats, and it affords you major bragging rights (if you win).

Battles are unpredictable and fun, but how do they work?

== Who Can I Attack? ==
You may only attack prisoners that are in the same [[Prisons|prison]] as you and are within either double or half your [[Your_Character#Level|level]]. You may only attack individual prisoners once every 10 minutes.

UPDATE: As of now, you may attack ANYONE in the same prison as you. This may be reversed in the future however.

== How is the winner determined? ==
The [[Your Character#Stats|stats]] of each prisoner is used to determine who wins a battle. Your [[Your Character#Stamina|stamina]], [[Weapons|weapons]] and [[Armor|armor]] are taken into consideration when determining your in-battle stats.

* The order of attack is determined by each prisoner's [[Your Character#Speed|speed]]
* The amount of damage done is determined by taking the [[Your Character#Strength|strength]] of the attacker and subtracting the [[Your Character#Defense|defense]] of the opponent
* To make battles unpredictable, realistic and a bit more random, each player's strength and defense are randomized on each attack:
** The attacker's strength may be anywhere from 90-110% of their normal value (after taking stamina into account)
** The opponent's defense may be anywhere from 80-105% of their normal value (after taking stamina into account)
* You lose some stamina every time you land a hit on your opponent

== After the battle ==
* HP of both prisoners is restored
* Some stamina is restored (20% for the winner, 10% for the loser)
* The attacker will gain experience if they won
** Experience gained takes into account how much stronger or weaker the opponent was
* The attacker may steal some cash from the opponent if they win.
* The loser will end up in the infirmary. If you are the attacker AND the loser, your infirmary time can be up to 3 times longer
* You will be taken to the battle results page

By taking a job, you'll get a certain payout of cash every day, depending on the job.

Jobs have stat requirements. You have to meet the necessary stat level of a certain job before you can take that job. As you train and raise your stats, your job level can increase also, which will increase your payout per day.

There appears to be some confusion over the whole "Dupe Account" situation, so this document will attempt to clarify it. As the rules state, you may have ONE account per individual. This means, you, as a person, are allowed ONE account and no more. Because many people may play from the same location, we've allowed multiple signups from the same IP or Computer (for INDIVIDUAL users -- again, you, as an individual, may ONLY have ONE SINGLE account!). To limit the abuse that may occur from multiple people playing from the same location, we've developed a system where accounts from the same location are marked as duplicates of one another.

===What exactly is a dupe?===
A dupe is defined as any two accounts that are found to access Prisonblock from the same location. Have a friend come over and play from your computer or network? You will be dupes. Sign onto Prisonblock from a public location (library, internet cafe etc)? You will be marked as dupe of anyone else who accesses Prisonblock from that location. This does NOT mean you will be banned right off the bat!

===How does being a dupe limit me?===
If you are a dupe with another account, you can NOT
* Send items or cash.
* Raid each others cells.
* Revive each other when exploring yards or other areas.
* Gain any cash or experience from mugging or attacking each other.

===How can I get this removed?===
We will NOT remove the dupe status of 2 accounts, so please do not ask, this is permanent except in one scenario. If you use the same IP as another player (can happen using a cell phone or public network such as at a school or library), but NOT the same computer and aren't linked in any other way, then your dupe status will be undone after a period of time passes where you have NOT used the same IP address. If you use the exact same computer or device as another person, then the dupe status will NEVER be lifted.

===How can I be banned over this?===
Many people have a fear of being banned over being a dupe. You will be banned in these scenarios:
* We somehow discover that you are using more than one account
* Someone you are marked a dupe as gets banned. This is because we have no way of knowing that you actually are an individual person (hence why we take the precaution of marking you as a dupe to begin with).
* You are trading items with someone marked as your dupe (using a third party) or assisting in the act of helping two dupes trade items.

Sometimes people who are marked a dupe of another user may get banned but may have a way to prove they are an individual and not the individual who was banned. We'll hear these cases out, but in most cases, there's nothing that can be done. Short of sitting down with you in your living room and kickin' it with you, we have no way to be sure and will take all measures to protect the integrity of the game.
